I grew up outside of Philly...I spent many, many weekends in and around Philly. BUT! I had yet to get to one iconic spot. Until our little weekend get-away that is! The Philadelphia Magic Gardens, on South Street is an amazing mosaic gallery, mostly outdoors, spanning 3 lots. The work is the creation of artist Isaiah Zagar who moved to the neighborhood when it was slated to be turned into a highway. He started to mosaic the property to make the area more beautiful. Over time the neighborhood saw a resurgence, didn't get a highway, and is one of the most popular trendy areas of the city.
The space is amazing! You see something new every time you turn a corner or turn around. We spent nearly an hour exploring and I could have spent all day there! What's even cooler is that there are mosaics all over the neighborhood now. Many alleys and storefronts are now covered in mosaic art, truly brining life to a once bottomed out area!

The Good. The Random. The Fun. v. 17
The Good:
We saw &Juliet yesterday! The show was AMAZING and easily made its way into my top 10 shows that I have ever seen! We hung by the stage door and met most of the cast, too!
I'm not sure which is longer...the car or the ladder?
The Fun:
I ran into one of my favorite Peloton instructors, Jess Sims, "in the wild" on Thursday! She was so sweet and chatted with me for a few minutes!

Parabolic Light
There is always amazing art in the Freedom Plaza, the 5th Avenue entrance into Central Park. The current piece is by Fred Eversley and is a mesmerizing 12-foot tall sculpture called "Parabolic Light." Eversley is known for his pieces that are variations on parabolic forms. He seeks to draw people into a world of radiant color and shifting dimensional perspectives.

Grounds For Sculpture
On our way back from Philly we made a stop at the Grounds for Sculpture! Judah had been there before but it was my first time. Grounds for Sculpture is a massive sculpture park near Trenton that was founded by the famous sculpture Seward Johnson. The 40 acre park has close to 300 amazing sculptures to see!
We lucked out with insanely good weather and had the best time wondering around for several hours. The works are amazing and massive. There are many works of lifelike people, many you can interact with. Some you aren't sure they're art until you're standing right at them! You are invited to the Inlinkz link party!
